Crane Technician/Electrician – Erie, PA

Seeking a crane technician/electrician familiar with overhead traveling cranes and hoists. This position is for our Erie, PA office. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls-magnetic and variable frequency drives, run conduit, pull wires and make terminations. Radio control & mechanical experience are a plus. Understanding blueprints is required. Customer service is emphasized with occasional travel required. Predominantly day shift but work during other shifts will be required including some weekends and holidays. All work is at customer’s facilities. We will consider full time or part time employment. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Welder / Fabricator – Erie, PA

Seeking an experienced welder/fabricator that can work creatively and independently. This position is for our Erie, PA office. Must be able to read mechanical and structural drawings to produce structural steel fabrications both in the shop as well as structural modifications in the field. Certified welders and ironworkers preferred. Must not be afraid of heights. Some travel required. Predominantly day shift but work during other shifts will be required including some weekends and holidays. All work is at our customer’s facilities. Ohio Positions:

Civil Structural Engineer - Ohio

Seeking a civil structural engineer, BSCE to analyze existing steel constructed buildings and crane runway support structures and foundations for current or increased loadings. Design new free standing runways and crane, monorail and jib support structures including all foundations. Knowledge of ACAD, AISC, AWS, concrete and mill building specifications. Perform field data collections to obtain the details required for design or analysis. Field troubleshooting as required. Survey new and existing crane runway sytems for elevation and alignment compliance and recommended repairs. Travel as needed. Prefer professional engineer. Will consider entry level candidates.

Design Engineers - Ohio

Seeking BSME or BSCE engineers to design overhead crane components such as gears, shafts, steel work, rope drums and properly size motors and brakes. Specify materials, testing requirements and equipment. Perform field data collections as required to troubleshoot or collect details required to perform the engineering. Must have excellent communication skills with customers. Manage projects from concept to reality assuming all responsibility. AutoCad experience is a plus. Travel as needed.

Mechanical Crane Technician - Illinois

Simmers Crane Design & Services Co. is seeking a highly motivated and
energetic individual for the position of Mechanical Crane Technician.

Duties to include the following:

• Mechanical assembly and disassembly of gearboxes-brakes-wheels and rails
• Solid rigging skills
  
• Motor and shaft alignment skills
  
• Welding, fabricating and blue print interpretation
  
• Good Mechanical troubleshooting skills
  
• Excellent customer relation skills
• Team player

This position will require some travel to customer sites in Illinois and Iowa. The candidate will also be required to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
